Alumni Music Concert
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the QEGS Music Department Alumni Fundraising concert on Friday 19th April 2024. This is the second such event we have run, and it was a joy and privilege to host QEGS Alumni, as past students came back to school to perform alongside current students. The concert was a resounding success and we have raised over £650 to support the development of the music provision at QEGS. The funds will be used to improve the learning environment in the music classrooms, largely by equipping our keyboards and (new) ICT facilities with headphones for every student. The remaining funds (approx. £112) will be donated to Derby Nightingale Macmillan Unit in memory of Mr Dave Roberts, who dedicated his career to providing high quality musical opportunities to students at QEGS. Special mention to our phenomenal guest performers: Sophie Henderson, Olivia Grime, Artemis Swain, Nat Liew, Jessica Duckworth, Tom Cross and Will Cross.
A massive thank you to our current musicians, who never fail to impress; QEGS Choir, Chamber Choir, String Group, Saxophone Group, and the QEGS Concert Band, as well as those who sang solos and duets.
